About Me
Like many, my passion for animals began as a small child. After high-school, I moved to Miami and started working as a kennel attendant. Soon afterwards, the veterinarian; Dr. Cindi, asked if I would be her assistant. This is where I learned many valuable lessons about many different aspects of animal care.
The first lesson learned was that it is my love and passion for animals that drives me to better myself. Second, it is this same love and passion that drives me to do all I can to help as many animals as I can. And a third lesson learned: I can have a tremendous impact on the animal world, even if it is one animal at a time. Dr. Cindi taught me that no matter how difficult or daunting a task may be, I can accomplish it with perseverance. She showed me how to over-come many fears and most importantly, how to use my passion to help and advocate for those who cannot do this for themselves; the animals.
Currently I volunteer as a animal care specialist at Nature's Nursery Wildlife Rehabilitation, Conservation and Education Center in Whitehouse, Ohio. This has give me very unique and valuable experiences with indigenous wildlife and has also taught me skills outside of the normal veterinary practice. The internal rewards are so astounding at the nursery I will continue to volunteer there as long as they need my assistance.
